A peanut butter chocolate pudding pie that is so creamy, rich, decadent and will leave you wanting more.
I found out about this peanut butter chocolate pudding pie from a colleague at work who ate it whilst on holiday in New York. Just the way he described this dessert got my taste buds jumping . And I knew I just had to make it. Any desserts that contains the ingredients oreo cookies, cream cheese and peanut butter will definitely have my attention. Keeping reading to find out how this lush dessert was made.
The peanut butter pie begins with a layer of oreo crust. I used a packet of oreo cookies, removed the filling and crushed the cookies in food processor. You can also crush the oreo cookies in a zip loc bag by bashing it with a rolling pin. Personally I find the latter more soothing, very stress relieving, lol. Mix in melted butter with the oreo crumbs until they are well coated.
Pour the crumbs into a pie dish and use the bottom of a glass to firmly press into the bottom and sides of the dish. Bake in a pre-heated oven for 10 minutes, then cool completely on a wire rack.
Whilst the crust is cooling, we move onto the chocolate pudding layer. I used Jell-O instant Chocolate Pudding. It is an American product, but can be purchased from online retailers. Make the chocolate pudding according to the instructions on the packet. Pour the pudding over the cooled oreo pie crust and set to one side.
In the bowl of a stand mixer or using a hand mixer beat together cream cheese and peanut butter until fluffy. In another mixing bowl, whisk together whipping cream and vanilla, until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the whipping cream into the peanut mixture. Pour over the chocolate pudding and chill the peanut butter pie in the fridge for at least an hour before serving.
When you are ready to serve drizzle with some melted chocolate and top with chopped peanut butter cups.
This peanut butter chocolate pudding pie is rich, delicious creamy goodness .The crust is buttery, I could go on and on. It is one of those desert dishes that is great for entertaining. It makes the perfect gift as well. Trust me anyone who has this pie gifted to them is in for a treat. And my colleague at work sure enjoyed this peanut butter pie.
