A delicious smoothie packed with kale, pineapple, banana and kiwis. Loaded with fruits and veggies, this smoothie is full of proteins and fibres.
I was never big on vegetables until about 10 years ago. And I most definitely did not like smoothies that contained vegetables. It wasn’t until, I started to experimenting with a mixture of vegetables and fruits that I began to love smoothies. Sometimes green smoothies get a bad rep for not tasting nice. If you have a sweet taste tooth the idea of drinking a juiced vegetable will definitely not appeal to you. The funny thing is just because it is green doesn’t mean it isn’t delicious.
This smoothie is made out of kale, pineapple, kiwis and banana is packed with vitamins and high fibre that makes you fuller for longer. Drinking a smoothie in place of your usual breakfast is great way for your body to refresh.
Now lets get into the ingredients for this smoothie.
What you will need for making this Kale Pineapple Smoothie
Kale– It is high in nutrients and low in calories. Kale contains antioxidants that flush out toxins. It contains vitamins A, K, C and B6, Manganese, Calcium, copper, Potassium and Magnesium. It is also an excellent source of Vitamin C. Did you know 67 g or 1 cup of kale contains even more vitamin C than a whole orange? Interesting, right!
Pineapple– This delicious tropical fruit has great health benefits. It is packed with nutrients, antioxidants and enzymes. Pineapple is linked to health benefits like aiding digestion and boosting immunity. Adding pineapple to the smoothie mellows the flavour of the kale.
Banana– This makes the smoothie rich and creamy. Banana also mellows the taste of kale. It is also a rich source of carbohydrates, vitamins and minerals.
Kiwi- A source of fibre which helps improve digestion. Kiwi contains a good amount of vitamin C.
Apple Juice– Used as a blending liquid and it also makes the smoothie delicious. You can substitute apple juice for orange juice.
Making the smoothie
