Ingredients

  • 5 mint leaves
  • 1 lime, quartered
  • 4 fresh strawberries, chopped
  • 30 ml (1 ounce) grenadine
  • 30 ml lime juice
  • 60 ml ( 2 ounces) vodka
  • soda water
  • mint sprigs for garnish

Instructions

  • In 2 highball glass, muddle together mint leaves, lime wedges and strawberries to release juices and oils.
  • Stir  in lime juice, vodka and grenadine. Fill glasses with crushed ice and top with soda water.
  • Garnish with mint sprigs

Notes

You don't need a fancy blender to crush  ice. I use a Lewis Bag and a mallet (*affiliate link). All you do is place the ice in the bag, seal and smash to your heart's desire.
To make a simple syrup, add equal amounts of sugar and water to a saucepan over medium heat. Stir until the sugar has dissolved. Leave to cool before using. The syrup can be stored in the fridge for up 30 days.
